Rs 23 lakh looted from post-office

Madhubani, Apr 29 (UNI) Unidentified miscreants raided a post-office and looted Rs 23 lakh from its chest here late last night.

Police Superintendent Anupma S Nilekar here said the dacoits swooped down on the main post-office and took all ten security guards in their captivity at gun points.

Later they broke open the chest and decamped with the cash.

The SP said the border of the district had been sealed and raids were on to nab the dacoits.

NBA files rejoinder in Supreme Court

Another farmer commits suicide in Punjab

Bathinda, Apr 29 (UNI) A 65-year-old farmer, Niranjan Singh, who was in heavy debt, committed suicide by consuming sulphos tablets in Burj Kahansingh Wala village in the district today. According to police, a suicide note recovered from the deceased stated that he had been under a heavy debt of Rs 4.8 lakh. He had taken loan from different sources including commission agents and a cooperative bank. ''I am committing suicide due to my inability to.....
