NTPC signs PPA with HPGCL

New Delhi, Apr 29 (UNI) National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Ltd today signed two Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with Haryana Power Generation Corporation Ltd (HPGCL) for supply of power from its power stations at Unchahar-III and Kahalgaon-II.

The PPAs were signed by Mr R S Sharma, Director (Commercial) on behalf of NTPC and Mrs Jyoti Arora, Managing Director for HPGCL in the presence of senior officials of the two organisations here.

Earlier, NTPC had signed PPAs for four of its stations, Barh, North Karan Pura, Kahalgaon-II and Unchahar-III for supplying additional 1,481 MW to Delhi last week, an official release said.

Microdosing of fertiliser increases yield: ICRISAT

Share of agriculture in GDP drops to below 20 per cent

New Delhi, Apr 30 (UNI) The share of agriculture in GDP has dropped below 20 per cent (19.7) in 2005-06 even as quantum of population directly and indirectly dependent on it continues to be around 65 per cent which shows growing poverty in the rual areas, according to National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER).
