Modhvadia's widow demands thorough probe

Ahmedabad, Apr 29 (UNI) Lakhibena, widow of Mulubhai Modhvadia, today demanded justice from Chief Minister Narendra Modi and sought a thorough inquiry into the murder of her husband.

In her letter to Modi, a copy of which was made available to the press here, Ms Modhvadia alleged that her husband was killed by BJP's Porbandar District President Babubhai Bokhiria because of business and social rivalry with him.

She further alleged that Bokhiria, who is a hardcore criminal, had many times before threatened Mulubhai and her of dire consequences if they came across him.

Ms Modhvadia discarded the confession of notorious criminal Bhima Dula, who had recently surrendered before the Porbandar police, that he had murdered her husband because of business rivalry with his son, Lakhman Dula.

She also said she suspected the confession before the police of misleading and the police had an ulterior motive behind that.

She has also asked Mr Modi to arrange adequate police protection for herself and family members as she fears they might be killed by rivals.

Mulubhai, was shot dead on the midnight of November 15, 2005, in Porbandar.
