Hungama TV announces talent hunt for kids; winners to act with John

Mumbai, Apr 29 (UNI) Talented kids from across the nation will get a chance to chase their dreams with Hungama TV's 'John Aur Kaun?' talent hunt contest.

Hungama TV COO Zarine Mehta and UTV Senior Vice President (Marketing) Siddharth Roy Kapoor today announced that Hungama TV would be organising the biggest ever talent hunt for kids in India.

''Children, boys and girls, between the age of seven to 14 years will get a chance to act with current Bollywood hearthrob John Abraham in a movie, produced by UTV Motion pictures- the makers of hit film 'Rang De Basanti' and promotors of Hungama TV,'' the duo told newspersons here today.

Mehta and Kapoor said, ''Applications for the competition will open in the third week of May and details will be made available on Hungama TV.'' Hungama TV will would shortlist 1,000 candidates in each of the five audition cities--Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Hyderabad through the month of June and July.

The reality show would go on air in the month of October. It would be a 13-episode serial and would be aired thrice a week. The children would be judged on the basis of performance in the genre of acting and dance.

''Eight kids will be shortlisted from each city. In all 40 kids will be selected from 1,000 and all the kids will go through a comprehenseive training process in Mumbai,'' said Mehta.

She further said, ''The two winners will also get Rs 5 lakh and a three-year contract with UTV to manage their carrers.'' John Abraham who is the brand ambassador for Hungama TV was also present during the media briefing. He said, ''It feels great to be associated with Hungama TV. The brand value of Hungama TV, fun and continuous innovation appeals to me tremendously and I am looking forward to spending time interacting with kids.
