World class cricket stadiums in J

Srinagar, Apr 24 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) president Farooq Abdullah has said world class stadiums will soon come up in the state as the BCCI has agreed to release Rs 10 crore for the purpose.

He said these cricket stadiums at both Jammu and Srinagar would have world class and modern facilities.

The BCCI will also release Rs 6 crore which it had withheld due to delay in submitting the statement of accounts for the past three financial years by the JKCA, said Dr Abdullah who was recently re-elected president of the JKCA.

As the accounts have now been audited and submitted, the money will soon be released by the BCCI,he said.

He said the game has been the worst-hit by militancy during the past 16 years and steps were afoot to revive it.

Dr Abdullah said the BCCI will also sent top curators and coaches to the state who would lay pitches according to international specifications and hone up the talent of youngsters respectively.
