Dubai, April 24 (UNI) Indian FIDE Master N Srinath held 10th seeded Ukrainian Grandmaster Valeriy Neverov, while compatriot double Grandmaster norm holder Parimarjan Negi lost to Philippino Danny Baltazar in the first round of the 8th Dubai International Chess championship here.
Another Indian Grandmaster R B Ramesh lived up to his billing to get the better of local lad Saeed Ishaq in the 40,000 dollar event.
Among other Indians who won their first round matches yesterday were International Master Abhijeet Gupta, Prathamesh Mokal, Vishal Sareen, O T Anil Kumar, G P Singh, D Sai Srinivas, M R Lalith Babu, Woman Grandmaster Aarthie Ramamswamy, Kruttika Nadig, S P Sethuraman, Chiatanya Vaidya and S Satyapragyan.
