Slain minister's wife seeks protection of her husband's killer

Ahmedabad, Apr 24 (UNI) Jagruti Pandya, wife of slain Gujarat minister Haren Pandya, today urged Home Minister Amit Shah to protect the life of notorious criminal Bhima Dula from being killed in a fake encounter by the police, as he is the only one person who has some information on the murder of her husband.

In a letter to Mr Shah, a copy of which was made available to media here today, Ms Pandya, citing recent media reports, has urged the Minister that the life of Bhima be protected as in the past police had killed two other criminals--Bapudi and Bhima Panda-- in encounters, who had information about the conspiracy of her husband's murder.

Bhima, who had been evading arrest for last several years for various crimes, had recently surrendered himself before the Porbandar police.

Ms Pandya also demanded that a lie detector tests be conducted on Bhima at the Forensic Science Laboratory, Bangalore, to dig out the truth in his claim that he had information about the conspiracy of killing of Mr Pandya.
