New Delhi, Apr 24 (UNI) The Supreme Court today directed the respondents, the Centre and Asom government, to file their written submissions on a PIL seeking to quash the Home Ministry order passed in February 2006 making the detection and deportation of illegal Bangladeshi migrants in Asom difficult.
A division bench comprising Justice S B Sinha and Justice P K Balasubramanyan issued the directions on the ground that there are over 20 lakh illegal Bangladeshi migrants in Asom who are a grave security threat to the country and the impugned order was politically motivated to save the vote bank of political parties.
