Saddam Hussein, co-accused trial resumes in Iraq

Baghdad, Apr 24: Saddam Hussein and seven co-accused returned to court today to face charges connected with the killing of 148 Shi'ites in the 1980s, a Reuters witness said.

The session was expected to again focus on prosecution efforts to prove that the ousted president's signature on documents directly implicated him in the killings.

One of the judges read a report with the results of a criminal investigation into the signatures and handwriting of the defendants, which include Saddam's half brother Barzan al-Tikriti, a former intelligence chief.

Reliance Capital's FY-06 net up at Rs 537.61 cr

Low turnout for Visakha-I repoll

Visakhapatnam, Apr 24: Low-turnout was witnessed in the re-poll being held for Visakhapatnam-I assembly by-election, with just 22 per cent of voting being recorded till noon today.The re-poll was held following Election Commission countermanding polling, held on February 19 in the whole segment for allegation of malpractices.
