Reliance Capital's FY-06 net up at Rs 537.61 cr

Mumbai, Apr 24: Reliance Capital has posted a huge net profit of Rs 285.59 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006, as compared to Rs 35.31 crore in the comparable period the previous fiscal year.

Its total income has increased from Rs 84.25 crore in Q4 FY-05 to Rs 322.33 crore for Q4 FY-06, a release issued here today said.

The Anil Ambani-controlled company has posted a net profit of Rs 537.61 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006, as compared to Rs 105.81 crore for the previous fiscal.

Its total income has increased from Rs 295.69 crore in FY-05 to Rs 652.02 crore for FY-06.

The company's board has recommended a dividend of Rs 3.20 on equity share of Rs 10 each for FY-06.

The company also informed that former NTPC Chairman C P Jain has been appointed as an additional director of the group.

CBI probe ordered into Andhra NGOs' proposals for grants

New Delhi, Apr 24 (UNI) Suspecting fraud in eight Andhra Pradesh NGOs' proposals for grants, Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Meira Kumar has ordered a Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI)inquiry into the matter, the Ministry said here today. The NGOs had sought grants-in-aid for setting up drug addiction-cum-rehabilitation centres under the scheme of Prevention of Alcoholism and Substance(Drug) Abuse. ''Melting permafrost may endanger Tibet railways within decade''
