Polling begins in Bhaderwah amid tight security

Bhaderwah, Apr 24 (UNI) Polling in the Bhaderwah constituency of Jammu and Kashmir, from where Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad is seeking entry into the state Assembly, began amid tight security here this morning.

No untoward incident has been reported from any part of constituency so far, the officials said.

Initially, polling started on a sluggish note due to wintry conditions in the area but is ikely to pick up by afternoon.

Besides Mr Azad (Congress), the only other candidate in the fray is Dhananter Singh of the BJP.

In all 122 polling station have set up in constituency, out of which 44 have been identified as ''sensitive'' and 48 as ''hyper-sensitive'' There are total of 90476 voters including 44310 females.

Police officer still missing

Imphal, Apr 24 : Sub-inspector Nongthongbam Kumar, who was allegedly kidnapped by unidentified persons 38 days ago was still untraceable. The police officer had come back home from Tamenglong police station and disappeared after reaching Imphal. However, the car which he had driven was recovered by police.The Joint Action Committee has resorted to agitation to demand the safe release of Kumar. The JAC said it had called a bandh earlier and formed a human chain yesterday at Thoubal.....

CSS Group acquires e-Brahma Technologies

Chennai, Apr 24: CSS Group, the San Jose Headquartered IT Services Group with offshore facilities in Chennai today announced that it has acquired e-Brahma Technologies, the Coimbatore headquartered IT Services firm specialising in ERP Space.A company press release said here that the acquisition had been fully funded from internal reserves. Paramasivam, founder e- Brahma will join the group as VP Engineering and Ramasubramaniam, co-founder of E-brahma will head the ERP offerings of the CSS group. The CSS Group.....

AP CM asks IT giants to ensure computer literacy in schools

Hyderabad, Apr 24 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today exhorted the IT gaints to join hand with his Government to take computers to all the 10,000 Government Schools and make the State computer literate. Inaugurating ''Digital Art Festival-2006'', a joint initiative of the State Government and the NIIT, Asia's largest IT trainer, he said presently computer learning in provided in about 1000 Government schools at a cost of Rs 45 crore......
