Outfits demand arrest of Isaac's killers

Imphal, Apr 24 (UNI) Various civil and students' bodies in Manipur have demanded the arrest of the culprits involved in killing of Isaac Hmar, 'information secretary' of Hmar Inpui at Mizoram.

The Hmar Students' Association, National Identity Protection Committee, Manipur Forward Youth Front and other organisations demanded arrest of the miscreants involved in the killing.

Hmar(37) had gone to Mizoram on April 12 to oversee some projects at Bairabi village. On April 18, after being reportedly called by some persons, he went missing.

His body was found on April 20 at Beraw Tlang, about three kms from Aizawl.

The organisations demanded the Mizoram government should punish those responsible for the killing and prevent such crimes in the future.

Delhi HC rejects anticipatory bail of Sadhu Yadav

New Delhi, Apr 24 (UNI) Delhi High Court today dismissed the petition of Lok Sabha MP and fodder scam accused Sadhu Yadav seeking extension of his anticipatory bill. Justice S K Agrawal said Yadav should seek legal recourse from Patna High Court. Teachers resent clousure of courses, colleges

Imphal, Apr 24 (UNI) The Government College Teachers' Action Committee (GOCTAC) has expressed unhappiness over the way the state government was dealing with the colleges and the teaching community. Chairperson of the committee P Laingam said the college teachers were boycotting all the officials of the education directorate as the demands of the teachers were not fulfilled. Jaswant Singh postpones Kathmandu visit

New Delhi, Apr 24: Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Jaswant Singh has postponed his visit to Kathmandu as a representative of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to persuade King Gyanendra to accept multi-party democracy. Sources close to Mr Singh said he will not go to Kathmandu as per his original schedule.
