Coimbatore, Apr 24: AICC election observor to Tamil Nadu and Kerala and former Karnataka Chief Minister Veerappa Moily today said no political party would support the Cauvery Tribunal's order.
Talking to newsmen here he opined that even after 16 years, the Tribunal had not given its final verdict. ''The people of the riparian states have lost their faith in the Tribunal'', he charged.
He said the Tribunal should give its final verdict within five years so that the people will have confidence in it.
Asked if he thought that the order would help Karnataka, he claimed it would neither help Karantaka nor the Cauvery delta states.
Asked about Tamil Nadu moving the Supreme Court against the Tribunal's latest order, he said ''I don't want to go into legalities. But I can say that I don't agree with the Tribunal's order.
Mr Moily , who alleged that the Jayalalithaa government's five year rule was a failure on all fronts, he said no foreign company is interested to invest in Tamil Nadu. Five Chief Secretaries, four Home Secretaries, six Revenue Secretaries were changed during the five year rule of the AIADMK government. This shows the failure, he claimed.
The Union Ministers from Tamil Nadu in the UPA government at the Centre had brought in a number of development projects inspite of the non-cooperation from the Jayalalithaa government , he also charged.
He answered in the negative mood when asked whether the result of the elections to state assemblies especially Kerala would have any impact on the UPA government at the Centre. ''The pre poll survey that LDF would emerge victorious is wrong. The Congress led UDF would sweep the polls'', he claimed.
