Srinagar, Apr 24 (UNI) President of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mehbooba Mufti has strongly condemned grenade attack on party candidate from Sangrama constituency Javid Hussain Baig.

Asserting the attack as most 'cowardly and inhuman', Ms Mehbooba said that it was the handiwork of defeated and frustrated politician who could not digest the grooming popularity of PDP among the masses.

She said it was second grenade attack on Mr Baig, nephew of Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Baig since the process start for bypoll in the constituency alongwith Rafiabad and Pattan seats.

Javid survived after a grenade missed his vehicle at Sangrama on March 30.

Demanding a proper investigation, she said those behind such attacks should be exposed.

She said politics is the battle of ideas but some disputed politicians are resorting to criminal acts like grenade attacks and explosion on active political opponents which was highly condemnable.

Ms Mehbooba also condemned the grenade incidents at Palhalan and Khanyar today in which one person had lost his life and scores were injured.
