K'taka to encourage SSIs in Karnataka-Hyderabad region

Gulbarga, Apr 24 (UNI) The Karnataka Government will encourage small scale industries (SSIs) and handicrafts in the Karnataka-Hyderabad region as it is devoid of any major industry, Agriculture and Marketing Minister Sharanabasappagowda Darshanapur informed today.

Inaugurating a ten-day handicrafts exhibition-cum-sale here, he said the region required SSIs to generate self-employment.

The Minister said the government would provide financial assistance to Self Help Groups engaged in making handicrafts.

New Delhi, Apr 24 (UNI) The Delhi Police have arrested two persons in connection with two separate incidents of kidnapping of minor girls from the Gokul Puri area of East Delhi. The police today arrested 19-year old Chandan in connection with the kidnapping of a 15-16 year-old girl from Khazan Nagar in Gokul Puri. Chandan, a resident of Toonda Nagar in Gokul Puri, kidnapped the girl yesterday. In another incident, the police arrested 26-year-old Mohammad Imran.....
