Iran president says no need now for US talks

TEHRAN, Apr 24: Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad today said there was no need for US-Iran talks now that a permanent Iraqi government was in place.

Asked whether he believed Iran and the United should still hold talks over Iraq, he said: ''By God's will, we think that right now, because of the presence of a permanent government of Iraq, there is no need.'' He also said he did not expect sanctions to be imposed on Iran over its nuclear programme.

Crisil assigns AAA rating to REC

Mumbai, Apr 24 (UNI) India's premier ratings agency, Crisil, has assigned a ''AAA'' rating to Rural Electrification Corporation's (REC) Rs 120 billion bond programme, stated a press release issued here today. Besides, it has reaffirmed its ''AAA/stable'' ratings to REC's Rs 110-billion bond programme, Rs 90-billion non-convertible debenture programme, Rs 2.25-billion tax-free bond programme, Rs 2.75-billion taxable bond programme and Rs 6-billion short-term debt programme. SBI considering hike in Home Loans by 25 to 50 bps

New Delhi, Apr 24 (UNI) State Bank of India (SBI) is considering an increase in home loan rates by 25 bps to 50 bps (basis points). "We are reviewing our home loan portfolio for both fixed and floating rates.
