IA announces scheme extension

Chennai, Apr 24 (UNI) Encouraged by the overwhelming response to its 'unchecked fares', Indian today announced the extension of the scheme till September 30 for travel in Economy Class on 148 sectors.

There would be a marginal reduction in unchecked fares applicable for travel from June 16 to September 30, 2006 compared to fares for the travelling period May one to June 15 (high season), an Indian release here said.

Tickets issued under the above offer would be non-endorsable and would be valid for travel on Indian flights only, it said, adding, unlike other fares, no frequent flyer points would accrue on tickets against unchecked fares. Child and infant fares were not available.

It said a discount of 15 per cent on Indian Rupee full fares on all domestic flights of Indian Airlines and Alliance Air would be available from April 15 to June 30, 2006 to holders of State Bank of India (SBI) Gold Card and SBI Elite Card. The discount would be available both in Economy and Executive class, it said.

The above discount was not valid on Child and infant fares and also for purchase of tickets through IA website and 'dial a ticket' facility through call centres. Frequent flyer points would accrue in proportion to the ratio of discount, which was available for any ticket purchased using the card during the promotional period.
