Ganja seized weighing 35 kg in city

Chennai, Apr 24 (UNI) Police seized 35 kgs of ganja from a locked house of a hotel employee in Choolaimedu area in the city today.

Police said, on a tip off, a police party broke in to the house and seized the stock.

Enquiries revealed that Mrs Karuppayaee (60) of Cumbum and her friend Mrs Vannakili (35) had smuggled the contraband from Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh TO sell it in the local market.

Police have registered a case and are looking for the women, who are said to be absconding.

Mysore, Apr 24 (UNI) One person was killed and ten injured in a collision between an autorickshaw and a private bus near Induvalu village in Mandya district of Karnataka today. Police said the accident occurred when the autorickshaw, carrying nine people, was proceeding to Thonnur. 3 of family killed in road mishap

Mirzapur, Apr 24 (UNI) Three members of a family died on the spot when a speeding truck collided with their car in the Ahraura area of the district today. Police said the car was coming from Varanasi when the incident occurred near Chahelwa hill. The deceased were identified as Santosh (32), his wife Sunita (30) and daughter Pinki.
