Gangster involved in many cases of Motor vehicle thefts nabbed

New Delhi, Apr 24 (UNI) The Delhi Police have arrested a member of an inter-state gang involved in several dacoity cases in Haryana.

Twenty-two-year-old Abhishek was arrested from the Seemapuri area of East Delhi yesterday while he was riding a motorcycle he had stolen from the Gokulpuri area.

Interrogation of the accused revealed that he was a member of a gang involved in committing several dacoities in Haryana.

Abhishek was wanted in two cases of dacoity in District Sonepat of Haryana.

Srikrishna, presiding judge of the bench of the Supreme Court today told the petitioner Pontiff Kanchi Jayanendra Saraswati that he wanted to withdraw from the case due to personal reasons. The hearing of Kanchi Shankarcharya's petition seeking change of the public prosecutor in the trial of Shanakraman murder case in which Shankarcharya is the main accused was adjourned till May 1 with directions to place the matter.....

Writs against cancellation of BTC Exam 2001 dismissed

Allahabad, Apr 24 (UNI) Allahabad High Court today dismissed several writ petitions filed against the October 20, 2005 Uttar Pradesh Government Order (GO) cancelling the BTC Examination 2001. The court clarified that candidates, who had taken the 2001 exam, will be permitted to take the BTC re-examination.
