Four chickunguinea cases reported in Dharwad

Dharwad, Apr 24 (UNI) With four more cases of chickun guinea being reported from Kalghatagi town of Dharwad district this morning the total number cases in the district rose to 31.

Official sources said except for the four fresh cases reported today, others who were underging treatment at the District Hospital were recovering.

District Health Officer M R Gotyal told UNI that steps to contain the disease have already been taken. Almost all cases that were reported from Kalghatagi town belonged to one particular lane and has been totally fogged to do away with mosquitoes.

Last week seven people were affected by the disease spread by mosquitoes from Garag village of the district and were treated at district hospital.

AMU to remain a minority institution: SC

New Delhi, Apr 24: The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) will continue to be a minority institution in terms of the 1981 constitutional amendment. Jaya approaches SC against her disqualifiaction

New Delhi, Apr 24 (UNI) Samajwadi Party leader Jaya Bachchan, who was disqualified as Rajya Sabha member on the grounds of holding an ''office of profit'', has approached the Supreme Court challenging her disqualification. Delhi HC rejects anticipatory bail of Sadhu Yadav

New Delhi, Apr 24 (UNI) Delhi High Court today dismissed the petition of Lok Sabha MP and fodder scam accused Sadhu Yadav seeking extension of his anticipatory bill. Justice S K Agrawal said Yadav should seek legal recourse from Patna High Court. The High Court had earlier granted anticipatory bail to Yadav, brother-in-law of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, till April 24. UNI PAT SI SSC1353.....
