Houston, Apr 24 (UNI) Indian-born Swede Daniel Chopra carded a level-par final round to have his best finish in the last four events of tied 36th at the 5.3 million dollar Shell Houston Open.

Chopra, who had failed to make the cut in the three events preceding this, fired three birdies and an equal number of bogeys to finish with a four-day total of two-under 286 and climb eight places up the leaderboard.

The Swede shared the spot with, among others, defending champion Fijian Vijay Singh, who ended his campaign on a disappointing note with a one-under final round, losing the title to Australian Stuart Appleby (269).

Chopra's inconsistent form was his undoing here as well. The Swede started with a birdie on the fourth but let the advantage slip by dropping a shot on the seventh and another on the 10th.

However, he recovered to fire two successive birdies but again undid the good work with a bogey on the last hole.

Singh also had a similar round, but a bogey less then Chopra, and lost the event he won last year.

Meanwhile, Korean Kyung-ju Choi became the only Asian to be among the top 10 with a tied sixth finish. Choi carded a level-par final round to end with a four-day total of 279 and have his first top 10 finish of the season.
