Chikun Gunya viral fever under control: Medical Officer

Chittoor, Apr 24 (UNI) Chikun Gunya, the viral fever which created panic among the people in Rayalaseema region and chittoor district in the last two month, is in control.

According to district medical and healthe officer Ch Ramakrishna the intensity was more in the month of March with more than 4526 cases registered at various hospitals in Chitoor district itself.

Meanwhile, the department has taken swift action from mandal to district levels with all Medical Officers monitoring the situation and special cells being set up to prevent the spread of the disease and treat patients promptly. Necessary medicines were also being provided to all primary health centres, he said.

There were no reports of any deaths due to the disease in the district, he added.

Air India Express to operate addl. flights to UAE

Delhi US Embassy to handle Nepal visa services

New Delhi, Apr 24: The United States has temporarily suspended visa services at its embassy in Kathmandu following pro-democracy agitation in Nepal but its Mission in New Delhi will process visa applications from citizens of the restive Himalayan kingdom.However, the applicant must have an appointment letter from the US embassy in New Delhi.A statement issued by the US embassy in New Delhi said applicants for nonimmigrant (NIV), immigrant (IV), and diversity (DV) visa interviews by citizens and residents.....
