Body of hardcore militant found

Jammu, Apr 24 (UNI) The body of a hardcore militant was found in the Sadar Dhal Acchal Bani area of district Doda in the Jammu region today.

According to the police, the militant, identified as Rehamtullah, a resident of Mohalla Desa, had reportedly died in a snow avalanche in January this year.

A case has been registered in the matter and investigations are on.

Meanwhile, in an another incident, a security party of 8 Rashtriya Rifles was ambushed by militants near Aol village, injuring Lance Naik Jaganathan Kuna.

Operations were on to nab the militants when the last reports came in.

Paraguay's president fires military chiefs

ASUNCION, Paraguay, Apr 24 (Reuters) Paraguay's president has fired the South American country's three top military chiefs after opposition lawmakers sought the men's dismissal for criticising Congress. Paraguay has been shaken by political instability and several coup attempts since democracy was restored in 1989, and opposition lawmakers had said the commanders' criticism amounted to a threat against the state. ''They're changes that the president had been formulating,'' said Defense Minister Roberto Gonzalez as he announced.....

Scottish police hold three under anti-terrorism law

LONDON, Apr 24 (Reuters) Scottish police today arrested three men as part of an ongoing anti-terrorism operation, less than two weeks after they held another man using security powers. Two men, aged 40 and 25, were held at an address in Alva, Clackmannanshire, under the Terrorism Act 2000 and a third, aged 46, from nearby Bridge of Allan, was later arrested at Stirling Police Office. COLCHESTER, England, Apr 24 (Reuters) A British military court today began hearings in the case of four soldiers accused of manslaughter for forcing an Iraqi prisoner into a canal in Basra where he drowned. Soldiers James Cooke, 22, Joseph McCleary, 24, Martin McGing, 22, of the Irish Guards and Colour Sergeant Carle Selman of the Coldstream Guards, 39, will face a seven-member court martial panel. Minor fire at demestic terminal of IGI airport

New Delhi, Apr 24 (UNI) A minor fire broke out tonight at the Indira Gandhi airport's domestic terminal building leading to the evacuation of the passengers. As many as 12 fire tenders were rushed to extinguish the fire that broke out in the lounge located on the second floor at 2035 hrs, fire brigade sources said. The sources said the fire spread to ITC lounge and Jet Airways office. The fire was finally extinguished.....
