4 additional flights to UAE by Air India Express

Kozhikode, Apr 24: The state-owned Air India Express will operate four additional flights on April 27, 29 and May one and two from Karippur Internatinal Airport near here to Dubai and Shjarjah on increasing demand from commuters.

Booking can be done through Air India office or through travel agents, the AI said in a release today: The schedule of the additional flights are: April 27: Flight No IX-377 leave Calicut to Dubai at 1115 and on its return leg would reach Calicut at 1935 hrs.

April 29: Flight No IX 371 leave Calicut for Sharjah at 2045 hrs and arrival Calicut from Sharjah at 0845 hrs (April 30).

May 01: Flight No IX-375 will leave for Dubai at 09440 hrs and return Calicut from Dubai at 1940 hrs.

May 02: Flight No IX-371 will leave for Sharjah at 2045 hrs and return to Calicut at 0845 (May three).

World class cricket stadiums in J

Srinagar, Apr 24 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) president Farooq Abdullah has said world class stadiums will soon come up in the state as the BCCI has agreed to release Rs 10 crore for the purpose. He said these cricket stadiums at both Jammu and Srinagar would have world class and modern facilities. The BCCI will also release Rs 6 crore which it had withheld due to delay in submitting the statement of accounts.....

Metals in stratosphere on funds and supply woes

SINGAPORE, Apr 24 (Reuters) Industrial metals raced to near new unbreached territory on Monday, with copper just below the $7,000 a tonne mark on persistent concerns over supply disruptions and on relentless fund buying. By 0701 GMT, London Metal Exchange copper for delivery in three months was up $80 at $6,860/$6,890 a tonne from Friday's London close. Nikkei closes below 17,000, yen hits exporters

Tokyo, Apr 24: The Nikkei average dropped 2.81 percent to end below 17,000 for the first time in nearly a month on Monday as a sharp rise in the yen dimmed the profit outlook for exporters such as Toyota Motor Corp.Analysts said a lower house by-election on Sunday, when an opposition candidate beat one backed by the ruling Liberal Democratic party (LDP), also weighed on the market, raising concerns about political uncertainty.The dollar tumbled to a three-month low.....
