20 per cent vote polled in Patna (west) by-election

Patna, Apr 24 (UNI) An estimated 20 per cent voters turned out to exercise their franchise in the by-election for Patna (West) Assembly constituency that ended peacefully today.

State election office said about 20 per cent of the total 512,506 voters, including 220,438 women, turned out to vote.

The political fate of 13 candidates, including BJP's Nitin Navin and Ajay Kumar Singh of this Cong was sealed in the EVMs.

The polling was peaceful and incident free.

Five people were detained as preventive measures.

Victim turns hostile in sensational Safdarjung rape case

New Delhi, Apr 24 (UNI) In a major setback to the prosecution, the prosecutrix turned 'hostile' in the alleged rape of a 32 year-old-woman at Safdurjung hospital a year ago.
