Elections were held for four districts---Howrah, Hooghly, East Midnapore and Nadia--where the Left front is expected to do exceedingly well in a repeat show in the past Assembly elections.
According to 'Star-Ananda'AC Neilson exit poll, the Left Front is all set to make a clean sweep of the second phase of the polls bagging 50 of the 66 seats for which elections are being held today.
Among the remaining 16 seats, 12 will be bagged by the Trinamool Congress, three by the Congress and one by the Independents.
'Kolkata TV', another 24-hour news channel in Bengali, predicted 48 seats in favour of the Left Front. In their first exit poll analysis at 1400 hours, which looked far more conservative, they gave 13 seats to the Trinamool Congress, four to Congress, while one seat was accorded to the others.
However, the 'Chobbis Ghonta' (24 Hours) gave a detailed analysis of the four districts. According to the channel in Left Front will bag 45 seats, the Trinamool Congress 17 seats and the Congress four seats.
The channel predicted that the Left Front is expected to make a clean sweep in East Midnapore, Howrah, Hooghly and Nadia.
According to Kolkata TV, in the total analysis Left Front is expected to get 86 seats, while of the remaining seats Trinamool Congress is expected to get 16, Congress seven and others two.
However, all the channels warned against one to two per cent swing either way as exit polls are never foolproof. But either way it does not change the composite picture of a sway in favour of the Left Front.
