Nitish Kumar holds 'Janata Durbar'

Patna, Apr 20 (UNI) Hope dawned for relatives of 20-year-old Pinki Kumari, who has been in coma for over two years, as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today asked the health secretary to consider an application for meeting her treatment expenses.

The announcement came during his 'Janata Durbar'.

Pinki Kumari was not alone who might complete her journey through a myriad of despair and sadness. More than 600 other commoners might have a 'changed' world at least for themselves if the bureaucracy pursued their cases earnestly.

The first 'Janata Durbar' was organised at 1, Anne Marg (official residence of the chief minister) this morning and continued for at least one and half hours.

To pre-empt chances of 'bureaucratic hiccups', Mr Kumar directed the officers concerned to send 'Action Taken Reports'(ATRs) within a certain time frame.

But problems varied despite the 'Aam Janata' having similar background as wives of Transport Department`s employees demanded payment of outstanding salary. They pleaded that they did not even have sufficent cash to marry off their daughters.

Mr Kumar immediately called the Transport Commissioner to solve their problems. He also asked the top bureaucrat to submit an ATR in this regard.
