Addressing wayside meetings in Jayankondam here last evening, he recalled the bifurcation of Perambalur district, with Ariyalur emerging as a new district during the DMK regime from 1996 to 2001.
Dr Ramadoss said former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi had created Ariyalur as a new district in order to develop the backward district of Perambalur.
He alleged that when J Jayalalithaa came to power in 2001, she merged Ariyalur with Perambalur.
When Mr Karunanidhi becomes the Chief Minister after the assembly elections, Ariyalur will once again be made a new district, he added.
Listing the various welfare schemes brought to the State by 13 Central Ministers representing Tamil Nadu, Mr Ramadoss alleged that Ms Jayalalithaa had refused to implement Rs 20,000 crore worth projects brought by the Centre.
He urged the electorate to replace AIADMK with a democratic Government for the welfare the State.
