Guntakal (Andhra Pradesh), Apr 15: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L K Advani arrived here today to recommence his first leg of the Bharat Suraksha Yatra.
Mr Advani arrived at this railway helipad in Andhra Pradesh from Bangalore and was accorded a warm welcome by senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu, former union minister Bandaru Dattatreya, and state party president Indrasena Reddy upon his arrival.
From here, he will travel to Ananthapur to undertake the last lap of the first phase of the yatra which was cancelled following the death of Kannada film icon Rajkumar on April 12.
Mr Advani, who is also the leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha will be addressing roadside meetings at Dharmavaram and Penugonda, and will halt at Hindupur.
