Russia condemns Iran's nuke announcement: Tass

Moscow, Apr 12: Iran's announcement that it had enriched uranium is a 'step in the wrong direction', Russia's Foreign Ministry said today, Itar-Tass news agency reported.

''It goes counter to the decisions of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the statement of the U N Security Council,'' Tass quoted a ministry spokesman as saying.

''(Iran should) stop all work to enrich uranium, including research.''

White House asks Iran to comply on nuclear prog

Crawford (Texas), Dec 28: The White House said further non-compliance by Iran on its nuclear program would only ''worsen its situation'' in the international community and lead to a downward spiral for its people.
