Tourist arrival records 12.1 per cent growth in March

New Delhi, Apr 7 (UNI) The foreign tourists arrival to the country continues to grow with the month of March recording an increase of 12.1 per cent tourism ministry sources today said.

Total tourists arrival during March was 1,280,524 as against 1,142,409 during the corresponding period last year, the sources added.

Foreign exchange earnings, in terms of rupees, also recorded the growth of 13.3 per cent during the same month with an amount Rs.

7,792.37. The highest growth during the year was recorded in January with 15.1 per cent crore.

Delhi experiences season's hottest day at 39 degree C

New Delhi, Apr 7 (UNI) The national capital experienced the season's hottest day today with the mercury touching 39.1 degrees Celsius in the afternoon. 7 children burnt alive in Haryana

Rohtak, Apr 7 (UNI) Seven children of farm labourers, five of them belonging to one family, were burnt alive in a fire in Bohar village in this district in Haryana today. The incident occured when a hut, wherein the children aged between two to six years were playing, caught fire at about 1000 hrs. The parents of the children had gone to the fields, police said. PSHRC asks ADGP Crime to probe against errant policemen

Chandigarh, Apr 7 (UNI) The Punjab State Human Rights Commission (PSHRC) today ordered an inquiry against errant policemen after it found that a manager of a cooperative bank was falsely implicated in a cheating case and harassed by the Fatehgarh Sahib police.
