Tata Steel MD is chosen CEO of the year

New Delhi, Apr 7 (UNI) Tata Steel Managing Director B Muthuraman has been awarded the 'CEO of the Year' by Business Standard.

Mr Muthuraman received the award in recognition of his services to the steel major.

Finance Minister P Chidambaram gave away the award, in Mumbai yesterday.

BS 1000 celebrates the success of entrepreneurship and had lined up a number of top companies in various categories for the award.

Nizamabad, Apr 7 (UNI) Expressing unhappiness over the ''non-stoppage of Babli Project works by Maharastra, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said his government would take all possible steps to halt the works. Special Train to Ernakulam

Bangalore, Apr 7 (UNI) South Western Railway (SWR) today announced running of Superfast Special train between Bangalore and Ernakulam and back to clear extra rush on account of Easter and Vishu Festivals. According to a release here, Train will leave Bangalore at 1715 hrs on April Eight and reach Ernakulam next day at 0430hrs. On the return direction the Train will leave Ernakulam at 1700 hrs and reach here at 0415 hrs next day.....

India-US on same wavelength on Nepal issue : Boucher

New Delhi, Apr 7 (UNI) India and the United States are ''on the same wavelength'' on the developments in Nepal and call for immediate restoration of democracy in that country, US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, Richard Boucher said today. New Delhi, Apr 07 (UNI) The prestigious Saraswati Samman, instituted by the K K Birla Foundation for outstanding literary work in Indian languages, was conferred on eminent writers Sunil Gangopadhyay and K Ayyappa Paniker today. Foundation Chairman Mr Justice (Retd) G B Patnaik gave away the award, for years 2004 and 2005, at a simple function here. Prof Paniker's nephew Amrit Paniker accepted the award on behalf of his ailing uncle who received the award.....

Dhaka, Apr 7 (UNI) Having earlier called for the dismissal of Bangladesh from Test cricket, Australian captain Ricky Ponting today did a complete volte-face, saying that the minnows were an improving side and deserved a place in the big league now.
