Tata Steel MD, B Muthuraman adjudged BS "CEO of the Year"

Mumbai, Apr 7 (UNI) Tata Steel, managing director,Mr B Muthuraman has been adjudged the ''CEO of the Year'' by Business Standard.

A press release here today said that the award was presented to him by union finance minister Mr. P. Chidambaram at a function held here Thursday.

''This prestigious honour was awarded to Mr Muthuraman for his untiring efforts in transforming the steel behemoth into one of the most efficient and profitable companies in the country,'' said the release, adding that his aggressive acquisitions through global footprints, his ability to turn every area of the company's operations into profit centres like its logistics wing and steel finishing department, have only added to his long list of achievements.

Teledata takes over I-Max

Chennai, Apr 7 (UNI) Teledata Informatics, a global provider of e-governance and ERP solutions to education and other verticals, has strengthened its presence in communication sector with the acquisition of the London based I-Max networks. Teledata has taken over 80 per cent in I-Max networks, a provider of telecommunication carrier services, equipment distributor and an integrated solution provider, a company release here said. DMA pledges to provide quality healthcare

New Delhi, Apr 7 (UNI) The Delhi Medical Association (DMA) today pledged to work along with all those involved in providing quality healthcare in society. ''The support staff and the paramedics are involved in a big way in providing quality healthcare... and we all must commit to work together,'' DMA Convenor Ashwini Dalmiya told reporters here during the World Health Day celebrations. The DMA asked its members to conduct training sessions to update the paramedical.....

MP Govt to cull 1,000 birds tomorrow

Bhopal, Apr 7 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Government will cull nearly 1,000 fowls in five villages of Burhanpur district tomorrow to stamp out bird flu. The decision comes in the wake of backyard poultry samples at Pipari village in Maharashtra's Jalgaon district testing positive. The five villages -- Biroda, Bholawa, Garhtal, Pipalphata and Mukhawara -- are within a radius of 10 km from the village, an official release said here today. Compensation will be paid.....
