Tackle killer diseases with latest diagnostics: Narvekar

Panaji, Apr 7 (UNI) Expressing concern over the rise of various dreaded diseases all over the world, Goa Health Minister Dayanand Narvekar said the need is to keep abreast with latest diagnostics and treatment to tackle killer diseases.

Mr Narvekar was speaking as the chief guest at the observance of the World Health Day at a state-level function organised by the Directorate of Health Services at Campal today.

The Minister said the government was striving to improve healthcare facilities in Goa. Two mobile vans would be made available in remote areas where health care facilities were not available earlier, he added.

Mr Narvekar said the government plans to set up private medical college in the state under the guidelines of Central Government and added that some seats would be reserved for the local students.
