Sant Ram Singla remembered, son shows existence

Samana (Patiala), Apr 7 (UNI) Thousands of people thronged this town today to observe the first death anniversary of Congressman Sant Ram Singla, a former Chairman of Punjab Mandi Board, while his son Vijay Inder Singla addressed the congregation on the occasion which was seen as his first political appearance in public.

Punjab Chief Minsiter Capt Amarinder Singh paid rich tributes to Sant Ram Singla while, addressing the gathering which was also addressed by Union Minister of State for Finance Pawan Kumar Bansal, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Shamsher Singh Dullo and other senior Congress leaders from the state.

Paying his tributes, the Punjab Chief Minister announced the renaming of Patiala-Samana Road as 'Sant ram Singla Marg' on the occasion.

Capt Amarinder Singh lauded the work done by Sant Ram Singla and said, that his son is also working on the footsteps of his father by holding responsibility of an important portfolio as the Chairman of Punjab Energy Development Authority (PEDA).

Mr Dullo said on the occasion that Sant Rama Singla had done great work for the Congress party.

Jharkhand, Orissa, AP continue to win

Hamas denies ready for two-state deal with Israel
