Richard Boucher meets Saran, Jayashankar

New Delhi, Apr 7 (UNI) India and the US today held further discussions on enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in civilian nuclear energy, in the backdrop of the recent developments in that area.

US Assistant Secretary of State for South Asia, Richard Boucher, who arrived here yesterday for talks with his counterpart S Jayashankar, Joint Secretary (America's), on the issue, met Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran.

He also held discussions with Mr Jayashankar.

There were also bilateral consultations on regional issues.

The visit by the US officials comes close on the heels of Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran's tour of the US where he held talks with several top officials of the US administration including Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Assistant Secretary of State for Political Affairs Nicholas Burns.

Both of them assured Mr Saran of Bush administration's commitment to the Indo-US nuclear deal.

NDA,UPA leaders consulting legal experts

War room leak: BJP demands Pranab's resignation

New Delhi, Apr 7 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party today demanded the immediate resignation of Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee following the arrest of five persons, including three former Naval officers, in the war room leak case. Third Front will help Congress: BJP

New Delhi, Apr 7 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party today cautioned the opposition parties to desist from venturing out to form a third front, saying it would only help the Congress. ''The Opposition slot is already occupied by the NDA-BJP.
