Police seizes 13,275 pirated books

New Delhi, Apr 7 (UNI) The Delhi police have seized more 13,275 pirated books of foreign publishers and arrested a person from East Delhi.

The market value of the seized books is estimated to be more than Rs 25 lakh.

Rajendra Kumar Arya was arrested for running an illegal publishing company under the name of 'All India Publishers and Distributors'. He was arrested from his residence in East Delhi's Anand Vihar areas.

Police seized 6,215 pirated books from his residence-cum-shop.

His brother Virendra Kumar Arya, who is evading arrest, also runs an illegal publishing company-- All India Travellers Book Sellers Publishers and Distributors.

Police seized 7060 pirated books from his office and two godowns.

Police prohibits use of torch light in Delhi for 60 days

New Delhi, Apr 7 (UNI) Police has prohibited carrying of torch light in rallies, processions or functions across the national capital from April 10 for a period of 60 days to maintain peace. 43 huts gutted in fire

Chandigarh, Apr 7 (UNI) Atleast 43 huts were gutted in a fire that broke out at Labour Colony on Jail Road here this afternoon, fire officials said. Mangal Chand, Sub-Fire Officer said that three fire tenders were pressed into service and took almost three hours to douse the fire.
