Patni Computer to provide IT services to Disney Mobile

Mumbai, Apr 7: IT major Patni Computer Systems has signed a multi-service contract with Disney Mobile, a new mobile phone service designed just for families.

According to this agreement Patni Computers will be responsible for development of consumer, retail and operational portals, and end-to-end system testing across multiple vendors and technologies used by Disney Mobile, a press release issued to the BSE said.

''Disney Mobile's selection of Patni for their Mobile Virtual network operators (MVNO) launch, is further validation of our capability to deliver quality IT services in complex telecom environments under aggressive deadlines to a globally recognised brand such as Disney,'' company's Vice President telecom and digital media Rohit Bedi said.

Status report on River Linking Project 'vague': SC

New Delhi, Apr 7: The Supreme Court today described as 'vague' the status report filed by the centre in relation to the progress made in the Rs 11,000 crore River Linking project. A bench comprising Chief Justice Y K Sabharwal and Mr Justice C K Thakker today directed the Union Ministry of Water Resources to file next status report about the progress made in the project upto July 31, 2006 by the second week of August this year......

SSP transferred, 2 officials suspended as Aligarh remains tense

Aligarh, Apr 7 (UNI) Soon after two senior officials were suspended in wake of the riots here, the state government today removed the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ajay Anand even as the death toll rose to five with recovery of one more body this morning.
