Pak national among three arrested on charges of spying

Chandigarh, Apr 7 (UNI) Punjab Police today arrested a Pakistani national Ataullah Khan and two Indians from Jalandhar Cantonment railway station on the charges of spying.

Besides Ataullah Khan, the Indian nationals arrested were identified as Babu Lal and Jyoti Prasad. The latter two were the residents of Kamla Market in Delhi.

Confirming these arrests, SSP Jalandhar Range Ishwar Singh told UNI here on phone from Jalandhar that the three were arrested in a joint operation conducted by the Military Intelligence and the Intelligence Bureau.

The three arrested were charged under the Official Secrets Act.

Certain documets related to the military matters were recovered from their possession.

Last year, two Pak nationals were arrested from Jalandhar Cantonment area on same charges. One of those two arrested had then come to watch the Indo-Pak Cricket test match at Mohali in March last year.
