Over 16,000 farmers benefitted by UPCRDB OTS scheme

Lucknow, Apr 7 (UNI) Over 16,000 farmers have been benefitted from One Time Settlement (OTS) scheme of loan repayment being operated by the Uttar Pradesh Cooperative Rural Development Bank Limited (UPCRDB).

State PWD minister and Chairman of UPCRDB Limited Shivpal Singh Yadav said here today that as many as 16,194 farmers had derived benefits from the OTS scheme till March 31, 2006 by repaying their loans and subsequently availing a rebate of Rs 625.61 lakh.

The OTS scheme is valid till May 31, 2006, he added.

Mr Yadav further said that during the year 2005-06 the Bank had disbursed credit worth Rs 534.43 crores and loans amounting to Rs 260 crore have been recovered, which was Rs 5.54 crore more than previous year recovery.

Shahdol, MP, Apr 7 (UNI) A girl student died and 21 were taken ill after consuming adulterated food prepared by the Adivasi Kanya Ashram Shala (ADAS) last night at Amarkantak near Anuppur district, official sources said today. Twenty-two girls were admitted to the primary health care centre in Amarkantak where Class X student Sumitra died. The condition of the rest were stable.
