New Delhi, Apr 7 (UNI) Contemporary western silhouettes and embellishments teamed up with traditional mix of attires deeply rooted in Indian culture marked the second day today of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WLIFW).

While some creations had a very strong western influence in terms of silhouettes, embellishments and fabrics, most remained within the Indian framework revolving around churidaars, sarees, and salwar suits among others.

Designer Ritu Kumar, another contemporary revivalist, had her collection titled 'The Label' which exhibited beautiful prints, embellishments and traditional fabrics. These ensembles were dominated by handloom creations with khadi as the focal point.

Designer Rina Dhaka with her Fall 2006 collection had a look that combined touches of modern style along with some delicate embellishments.

The collection of Meera and Muzaffar Ali sought to interpret tradition in contemporary paradigm. Muzaffar Ali, a well-known figure in Sufism and a noted script writer along with Meera presented 'Kotwara' creation which offered soft textures and different patterns of embroidery giving a poetic touch. Black knee-length kurtas and churidaars with embroidery on hems, necklines and 'pallus' of sarees were exhibited in their collection. It then moved into brightly coloured skirts and peach and mango hued 'lehanga-choli' ensembles.

Among the designers whose collection hit the ramp were Deepika Govind, Ashish Pandey, Krishna Mehta, Earthy Myths, Neeta Bhargava, Swapan and Seema and Karuna and Shradha Khaitan.
