Mayawati to campaign in TN

Madurai, Apr 7 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati will campaign for the party and its ally, 'Puthiya Thamizhagam' (PT), in the coming Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.

Announcing this to newspersons here, PT founder-leader K Krishnasamy and Suresh Mane, BSP coordinator for Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Pondicherry, said Ms Mayawati would extensively campaign for seven days.

According to them, the BSP leader was planning to concentrate more on the southern districts. Details of the election tour would be released shortly, Dr Mane said.

To a question, Dr Krishnasamy said Ms Mayawati was expected to commence electioneering in the state towards the end of this month.

Dr Mane said the BSP was contesting all the 140 seats in Kerala and 22 in Pondicherry on its own.

The election manifesto of the respective parties would be released on at Chennai April 14, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar, they said.

SC refers Parrikar's petition to constitional bench

New Delhi Apr 7 (UNI) The Supreme Court today referred to constitution bench the petition filed by former Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar challenging the dismissal of his government. Two group clash at temple function
