Lifebuoy Swasthya Chetna postal cover released

Mumbai, Apr 7 (UNI) Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra Circle, Ms K Noorjehan today released a special Lifebuoy Swasthya Chetna postal cover, first time for an Indian brand, on the occasion of World Health Day.

Addressing a distinguished gathering on the occasion, Ms. Noorjehan said the postal cover was in recognition to Lifebuoy's pioneering rural health and hygiene awareness initiative.

Launched in 2002, the Lifebuoy Swasthya Chetna movement, an initiative of Hindustan Lever Limited (HLL), has covered more than 17,000 villages in eight states with more than 20 lakh children made aware about basic hygiene the HLL proposes to take the programme to 10,000 more villages across the country this year.

7 injured in bomb explosion in Chhattisgarh

Jagdalpur, Apr 7: Seven people, including two Special Police Officers,(SPD) were injured when an improvised explosive device attached to a corpse exploded today in the naxal-affected Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh, police said.Two persons, who were seriously injured in the explosion at village Bharpal near Bhairamgarh, had been admitted to Bharamgarh hospital, police said.Police said naxalites killed a villager and kept the body laced with IED on the road to trap police personnel.
