Kochi to have new 'Corporate Park' for IT sector

Kochi, Apr 7 (UNI) The Rs 150 crore Trans Asia Group has announced the commissioning of its state-of-the art Corporate Industrial Park here, targeting the growing IT and ITES sector in Kerala.

Talking to newspersons here last evening, Group CMD K Johnson Mathew said the Corporate Park, would be formally inaugurated by Union Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi on April 11.

Trans Asia Group, which has long experience in international shipping, full liner operations, plantations and Information Technology, is making its foray into infrastructure development, targeting IT enabled services sector with the launch of the Corporate Park, he said.

The first phase of the venture, costing about Rs five crore and comprising 30,000 sq ft., was ready for occupation. The entire complex, consisting of 65,000 sq ft., would be ready by early 2007.

The total project cost is Rs ten crore, he added.

Group General Manager Wilson Thomas said that talks were at an advanced stage with six corporates to move into the complex shortly.

Mr Mathew said the core activity of the Group covered ship owning and full liner operations, including Non Vessel Operating Common Carrier (NVOCC).

The group covered 22 seaports and many inland container depots within South-East Asia, the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East.

It has 12 offices in India and one each at Singapore, Colombo and Dubai, he added.

Thieves target Shejwar's house

Raisen, MP, Apr 7 (UNI) Unidentified men broke into senior BJP leader Gauri Shankar Shejwar's bungalow here last night, police said. Dr Shejwar's nephew Kuldip Bagri informed the police after he came to know about the theft this morning. Sniffer dogs were put into action immediately. The articles stolen from the house were yet to be ascertained, police said, adding that the locks of five rooms had been broken. A close associate of expelled BJP leader.....

SC issues notice to RS Secretary on Sakshi's expulsion

New Delhi, Apr 7 (UNI) The Supreme Court today issued notice to Rajya Sabha Secretary Yogendra Narain on a petition of former Rajya Sabha member Swami Sakshi Maharaj challenging his expulsion from the House for his alleged involvement in the MP Local Area Development (LAD) funds scandal. A bench comprising Chief Justice Y K Sabarwal and Mr Justice C K Thakker ordered the matter to be listed along with the writ petitions filed by 11 MPs.....
