Khurana's Sangharsh Yatra over Delhi demolition drive from tomorrow

Lucknow, Apr 7 (UNI) Expelled BJP leader Madan Lal Khurana has joined hands with Uma Bharti to take out 'Sangharsh Yatra' in the national capital from tomorrow before sitting on fast unto death at Prime Minister's Office (PMO) to protest the demolition drive in Delhi.

''As many as 35 lakh people of Delhi were affected due to drive which is reminiscent of 1947 destruction,'' Mr Khurana told reporters here this evening. Not only the shopkeepers and owners of buildings but also the labour class employed with them has been badly affected due to drive against illegal constructions, he added.

He said the week-long 'Sangharsh Yatra' would be followed by fast unto death in support of the demand for an Ordinance to regularise the constructions. ''Similar ordinance was issued in Maharashtra for Ullhasnagar and it saved the situation there,'' he added.

The Ordinance could well maintain a status-quo as far as the individual properties were concerned, where action against land sharks and those who had encroached upon the government land was always welcome, he said.

The former Delhi CM said he had constituted a committee headed by Vijay Kumar Malhotra which had given its recommendations on illegal constructions when he was in power. ''I demand these recommendations be impelmented,'' he said.

Mr Khurana, who earlier visited Ayodhya, said he had taken order from 'Ram Lala' in this regard to do something for Delhi.

Blaming former BJP president L K Advani for goofing up with the cause of Ram Temple construction at Ayodhya, he said it was his biggest mistake to have faith in Mr Advani's words. ''I repent for that and will unveil a plan for Ayodhya very soon,'' he said while refusing to divulge further.
