Israeli planes bomb two targets in Gaza

GAZA, Apr 7: Israeli warplanes bombed and wrecked two offices of an armed wing of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah movement in Gaza City today, the Israeli army and Palestinian security sources said.

Helicopters fired missiles at two headquarters of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades in Gaza City, causing no casualties, the Palestinian sources said.

An Israeli army spokeswoman said both strikes had targeted offices of the Al-Aqsa Martrys Brigades, an armed wing of Fatah Israel blamed for firing rockets at its towns and cities yesterday.

One of the rockets fired from Gaza yesterday struck an Israeli factory near the town of Ashkelon and set it ablaze, injuring one Israeli. Another struck inside the town of Sderot but caused no injuries, the army said.

Shares in Matsushita Electric Industrial Co and NEC Corp may be in focus after the Nihon Keizai newspaper said the two will set up a joint venture with US firm Texas Instruments Inc to develop mobile phone parts......
