Indian national killed in Maoists attack in Nepal

Kathmandu, Apr 7 (UNI) An Indian national was among the 13 people killed during the Maoists attack in Malangawa on Wednesday night.

reports said.

Two civilians including Indian national Ram Sogarath Sah and a local shop keeper Shree Krishna Rauniyar were among the 13 killed in the incident. Nine civilians and 27 security personnel were injured in the clash, a report said.

The rebels had completely destroyed the district administrations' offices including the police post and army barracks.

A total of 107 prisoners were freed after the rebels attacked the district prison, officials said.

The Maoists abducted Chief District Officer Bodh Raj Adhikari, Jailer Anil Acharya and nine policemen after attacking the District Administration Office (DAO) and the jail.

The rebels claimed that they have siezed some weapons and shot down the Royal Nepalese Army helicopter killing 10 soldiers and the pilots on board.

35 people injured in yesterday's quake

Five die, two injured in road mishap near Parali

Beed, Maharashtra, Apr 7 (UNI) Five persons died and two sustained serious injuries when their jeep dashed against a roadside tree at Tokwadi village, about 95 km away from here, in the early hours today. Police here said seven persons, including a woman, were travelling on the jeep from Nanded to Mumbai when the mishap occurred at around 0300 hrs today.
