Hoggard puts down poor form to ''lack of rhythm''

Kochi, Apr 7 (UNI) Expressing his keen disappointment over not being able to perform well in the fourth one-day match against India here yesterday, English fast bowler Mathew Hoggard today put down his lack of performance to a ''loss of rhythm''.

Addressing a press conference here, Hoggard, who did not take any wickets during his nine overs yesterday while yielding 59 runs, said that he was not picked up to play in the first three ODIs and then selected for the fourth one-dayer.

''Yesterday, I could not bowl as well as I hoped. I was disappointed. I did not play in the first three ODIs at Delhi, Faridabad and Goa. I was picked up for playing in the fourth ODI.

But unfortunately, yesterday I did not bowl as well as I hoped.

When one is playing, there is a rhythem. I will have to work at the nets to get the rhythm,'' he added.

Describing the Indian side as the ''best one day team in the world'', Hoggard added that the records prove it.

Despite the series loss, the English side's morale was not down, he said. ''It is a good side. Had we won the first two one-dayers, it would have been a different story now,'' he added.
