Hewlett Packard sets up innovation lab at IIIT-Bangalore

Bangalore, Apr 7 (UNI) Leading PC maker, Hewlett Packard, today announced the setting up of a lab at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore (IIIT-B) for undertaking technology research catering to the requirements of telecom service providers in 3G space.

The Lab was the first one in the country to facilitate students undertake projects on HP's pioneering efforts in the industry standard IP Multimedia Subsystem network architecture, a company release here said.

It would focus on developing standards based on innvoative applications to offer enhanced multimedia features and other value added services that could be deployed by telecom service providers.

HP would also provide hardware, software and technical expertise required at the Lab, the release added.

5-screen multiplex opened at Indore

Bhutto's PPP rejects new corruption charges

KPTCL announces unscheduled load shedding

Bangalore, Apr 7 (UNI) Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) today informed that it would resort to unscheduled load shedding for the next few days to overcome the power crisis and improve grid stability in the state. In a statement here, the Corporation said the estimated power loss in the state as of now was 976 MW.
