FAPCCI hails Foreign Trade Policy

Hyderabad, Apr 7 (UNI) The Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry welcomed the Annual Supplement of the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-09, saying the policy with ''full of incientives'' to exporters and Indian Industry would help India in achieving double digit growth in very near future.

''It is also a welcome feature for the Trade and Industry that the policy has given special focus on sectors such as auto components, aviation and host of other sectors on which strong fundamentals will be built for betterment of Indian economy,'' FAPCCI President C V Atchut Rao said in a release here.

''Focus Product Scheme'' and the ''Focus Market Scheme'' would give a boost to exports and provide jobs in semi-urban and rural areas, he opined.

''Duty Free Import Authorization Scheme would encourage imports of small quantitites of inputs without cost constraints to the small time importers/exports, he added.

Alert along Indo-Nepal border after Maoist attack in Nepal

Patna, Apr 7 (UNI) A High Alert has been sounded along the Indo-Nepal international border adjoining Bihar following a series of Maoists attacks in Nepal. DIG of Seema Shasatra Bal (SSB) S K Jha told UNI today a strict vigil was being maintained along the 800-km international border area. India Inc optimistic about Foreign Trade Policy

New Delhi, Apr 7 (UNI) India Inc today welcomed the changes in the Annual Supplement of the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-09 saying they would augment exports and create job opportunities for both skilled and unskilled manpower of the country. The major changes announced by the Government in the Annual Supplement include thrust on employment generation, especially in rural areas, and varied sectors like gems and jewellery, auto components, aviation, marine products and BPOs.....

Talks must with trade unions to build work environment: Sahu

Chandigarh, Apr 7 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Chandra Sekhar Sahu today said the Centre and the entrepreneurs hold discussions with trade unions and other workers' organisations to build a cordial work environment in the country. Presiding over a conference on Social Dialogue-Labour Policy Reforms, Mr Sahu said the Union government would introduce a bill related to the labour policy reforms in the coming monsoon session of Parliament which would help.....
